Fashion's Night Out 2009

For my reader(s) who live(s) near New York City, there is one event next month that you may not miss! The event is called 'Fashion's Night Out' and is held on September 10th. All across the burroughs of New York there will be in-store parties all night long and NYC will be awash with celebrities such as Anna Wintour (at Macy's in Queens), the Olsen Twins, Alexa Chung, the Proenza Schouler guys, Pharrell Williams, Hugh Jackman, Alexander Wang, Maria Sharapova and many more.

However, if you don't live in New York or the U.S.: don't despair. This event is also being carried out in other countries all over the world such as France, the U.K., Italy, Russia etc. but sadly not in Belgium. So for the ultimate fashion event, go all out on September 10th!

What The Tweet?

Hello my lovely reader(s)!
If you like what I write, and have absolutely nothing else to do then why not follow me on Twitter? Here's the link: http://twitter.com/Ghostboy2112
I love Twitter because you can connect with celebs in real-time, and when you're very lucky they might tweet you back! I'm not close to being a celeb, so I'll get all giddy when I get another follower and will tweet you back instantaneously!
There are some very stylish people (Karl Lagerfeld, Scott Schuman aka The Sartorialist et al) and magazines (NYLON etc.) present on Twitter, so you can get your instant fashion fix when I haven't updated yet!
I'd say: click that follow button and never mind the bollocks I tweet sometimes!

Until we tweet again! (Okay, that was the last time I type 'tweet').
Random amazing Louis Vuitton carry-all, thrown in for good measure.
Tweet! (I'm going to stop now, honestly)

H(ip) & M(asculine)

As mental as this may seem, I actually can't wait for autumn to come! Sure, summer's nice with the sun and fun and what not but it's no use if you're stuck inside studying like most of my friends and I. So I say: bring out September and the months to follow and let's wrap Summer '09 up, okay?
Not only do I await fall's dawn for not having to be cooped up in here anymore, but for a collection I always highly anticipate: H&M's autumn collection.
Coarse cable-knit sweaters, rusty colours and the eternal dividend: 'Flo-Rida low' prices.
I've already put the following items on my inexhaustible wish-list:

This left-over (because not very succesful here) Matthew Williamson tee (€4,90).

This stylish faux-croc laptop case (€19,95).

Amazing Prussian blue or navy trench coat (€79,50).

Crimson trousers for that added kick (€19,95).
Anthracite double-breasted jacket (€59,50).
Oh, and if your ladyfriend hasn't heard the news yet: come fall, Jimmy Choo is designing a limited edition shoe collection for H&M. If she drags you with her, for your strong arms to push other rabid women down and pulling out weaves, brace yourself. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Kings of Style-On

Yes, my titles do get better every time, thank you very much.
This post is about one of my favourite bands around, Kings of Leon. Surely you must have been in some jungle licking the backs of frogs if you haven't heard 'Sex On Fire' or 'Use Somebody' yet, and I applaud you if you know their other stuff too. Not only are Caleb, Jared, Matthew and Nathan Followill exquisite musicians, but they also have a very good sense of - wait for it- style. A mix of southern chap with a rock'n'roll twist, I could best describe it. They're no strangers to simple tees, plaid shirts, leather jackets, vests, necklaces, skinny jeans and tattoos but they also clean up very nicely (as depicted below). Everyone can feel like a rock star: all you need is some kick-ass clothes, facial hair (unless you’re a non circus-employed female) and sweet K.O.L. tunes. And maybe a frog for you to lick.

Top 5 (varies. A lot.): Closer, On Call, Be Somebody, Day Old Blue, Notion and Use Somebody.

Must!Have!Now!

How insanely cool are these limited edition high-tops by Pierre Hardy? One of my favourite artists of all times is Dutch-Phrisian graphic artist M.C. Escher and these sneakers are undoubtedly strongly inspired by his work. Hardy's are not the cheap kind (500$), but they sure are smashing. Expect a lot of quizzical looks directed at your feet when you're wearing these puppies.
